No. H2 ships with an eSIM built in. After you pair it in the AIDOVID app, it automatically connects to the strongest local carrier — there’s nothing to insert, register, or configure.

Like any cellular device, H2 needs signal to upload. It keeps recording locally no matter what, and syncs events to the cloud as soon as coverage returns. If your car regularly parks somewhere with zero coverage, remote live view won’t be available there — recording still works.

The hardware supports global 4G bands, but our plans and support currently focus on the United States. Contact us before ordering if you plan to use it elsewhere.

No — that’s the point of AOV mode. It records at an ultra-low frame rate with standby draw under 1 mA equivalent, and built-in low-voltage protection stops monitoring before your battery drops below a safe starting threshold. You choose 12, 24, or 48 hours of guard duty in the settings.

AOV records continuously at 1 fps and switches to full-rate recording when the AI detects a sentry event. Standby sleeps and only wakes on vibration. Power Off disables parking recording entirely. All three apply only when parking monitoring is wired via constant power (hardwire kit or OBD module).

For parking protection, yes — sentinel mode needs constant power (B+), which the included fuse-box hardwire kit provides. Most owners do it themselves in 20–30 minutes with the included pry tool; any car audio shop can do it quickly too. Prefer plug-and-play? The optional OBD power module plugs straight into your OBD-II port.

Both the road camera and the cabin camera record 1080p Full HD at 30 fps. The road camera has true hardware HDR and WDR, which matters more for readable plates than raw pixel count. A 2K interpolated mode is also available in settings.

Yes — the cabin camera has infrared night vision, so the inside of the car stays visible in complete darkness. The road camera relies on your headlights and street lighting, aided by HDR.

Yes. H2 has a dedicated rear-camera port. The rear camera (1080p, sold separately) mounts on the rear windshield and gives you three-way coverage: road, cabin, and behind.

Yes — bring your own microSD card (not included). Use a reputable brand rated U3/V30 or better, 32 GB minimum, up to 256 GB. Format it in the device before first use (Storage → Format).

Video recording on public roads is broadly permitted in the US, but some states require passenger consent for audio recording. H2 gives you a dedicated mic button — one press turns audio recording off. Check your state and local rules; you’re responsible for lawful use.

Your recordings live on your memory card and, for cloud events, in your AIDOVID account. You control sharing. See our privacy policy for details on account data.
