No — the 4G is built into the H2, so there is no SIM card to buy or insert. Setup is still required: add the device in the SmartSF app, pair over Bluetooth, confirm the request on the H2 with the OK button, and keep the phone close until binding finishes. The H2 then connects to an available local carrier according to signal conditions.

Paid plans are Basic $9.99/month, Standard $19.99/month, Premium $29.99/month, or yearly Standard $199.99. All paid tiers include remote live view, remote playback, AI Sentinel, event notifications, voice call and live GPS. Cloud storage, AI Cloud Snap, GPS history and video-on-map start with Standard. Local microSD recording does not require a plan. New-device and first-subscription 30-day trials are described on the plans page.

Like any cellular device, the H2 needs signal for remote service and uploads. Local microSD recording continues without cellular coverage, but remote live view, alerts and uploads are unavailable until coverage returns.

The hardware supports global 4G bands, but our plans and support currently focus on the United States. Contact us before ordering if you plan to use it elsewhere.

Parking monitoring needs constant power, from either of the two kits in the box — the hardwire kit with fuse taps, or the OBD-II adapter. Built-in low-voltage protection stops monitoring when the battery falls below the configured threshold, so the watch ends rather than drawing the battery down any further, and you can select a 12 or 24-hour monitoring window. How long a given battery will last depends on its age and state of charge, and on which parking mode you pick: AOV keeps recording the whole time, Standby sleeps until it feels an impact. We cannot promise a number of hours for your car.

AOV records continuously at 1 / 0.5 / 0.2 fps (default 1 fps) and switches to normal-frame-rate recording when AI Sentinel detects a supported event. Standby sleeps and only monitors vibration. PowerOff disables recording and vibration response. The modes apply only when parking monitoring has constant power.

No — not with this batch. There are two ways to give it the constant power parking monitoring needs, and both are in the box. The OBD-II adapter plugs into the port under the dash with no wiring at all (free while supplies last). The hardwire kit is the tidier one: yellow to constant B+, red to ACC, black to ground, using the included fuse-box adapter set. A car-charger power cable is not included, and a cigarette socket that dies with the ignition cannot run the parking watch. If the fuse box is not something you want to open, use the OBD-II adapter — professional installation is an option either way.

The road camera records 2K 2560×1440 — an interpolated mode built on a native 1920×1080 sensor, so the file is 2K but the detail comes from a 1080p capture. The optional rear camera records 1080p. The cabin camera records 1920×1080. All channels run at up to 30 fps; the recorder menu offers 25 / 30 / Auto and defaults to 25 fps. The road camera also has hardware HDR and WDR.

The cabin camera uses a dual-pass filter compatible with 940 nm infrared light for cabin night recording. As with any infrared system, results depend on distance and conditions, so we don’t quote a guaranteed range.

Yes. The H2 has a dedicated rear-camera port, and the rear camera is one of the two kits you pick on the product page — camera only, or camera plus the rear kit. It mounts on the rear windshield, records 1080p, and gives you three-way coverage: road, cabin, and behind. You do not have to buy it now: it is a separate unit that plugs into the same H2, so you can add it later for the same $20. The rear kit is out of stock at the moment — the product page has a waiting list for it, and the camera itself ships as normal.

One is already included — the H2 ships with a 64 GB microSD card installed in the camera, so it records from the first drive. If you want more storage, the H2 supports cards from 32 GB up to 256 GB rated U3/V30 or better. Format any new card in the device before first use (Storage → Format).

Video recording on public roads is broadly permitted in the US, but some states require passenger consent for audio recording. Audio recording is switched off from the factory on the H2 — the Down button turns it on or off, and the camera shows the current state on its own screen. Check your state and local rules; you’re responsible for lawful use.

Your recordings live on your memory card and, for cloud events, in your SmartSF app account. You control sharing. See our privacy policy for details on account data.

The H2 box includes the main unit with a 64 GB microSD card already installed, adhesive bracket, one electrostatic sticker, one spare high-temperature adhesive, cleaning cloth, User Manual, B+/ACC/GND hardwire power cable and a fuse-box adapter set for B+ and ACC. This batch also includes an OBD-II power adapter, free while supplies last. A car-charger power cable is not included. The rear camera and its cable are not in the standard box — they come with the rear-camera kit, which you choose on the product page.
